Do you remember having fun with friends at school running around a table tennis table?
Playing ping pong or table tennis is both a social and physical activity and can give rise to wildly acrobatic swipes with - everything from a math book to a flipflop or of course a real table tennis bat.
The Danish design team Troels Øder Hansen and Anders Find spent hours around a table tennis table too. They are the creators of a table in an updated design style, which is raw and urban and can bring people together - both children and adults - in the school yard, the park or other public spaces.
Both guys are rooted in the Copenhagen design and art scene and are deeply passionate about table tennis. The PingOut series is based on the idea of bringing social togetherness, activity, design and art into the public space. The tables are open 24 hours and free to use!
The PingOut table was first presented back in 2009 to the Copenhagen urban space, right on the median of Sønder Boulevard in front of Café Dyrehaven. The recognized Artist HuskMitNavn decorated the bright blue table, and you can still find it there!
Since then PingOut and Elverdal in collaboration have developed a whole series of the tables in hot dip galvanized steel, which are sold both in Denmark and internationally.
