Zip wires are magical! There’s always a queue by the zip wire - and plenty of laughter too! Excitement bubbles at the sense of risk-filled play All children are different and so need to be challenged differently. Some kids are daring and will instantly and fearlessly jump right into the challenge. Others are more tentative and need to consider the challenge first. Should I have a go?
As an educator or similar, you can help the child to work on their personal skills. Maybe you could do the first ride together?
Once any fears have been conquered, they are instantly replaced by joy and laughter - the absolute best foundation for mental development.

More than just a zip wire….
Zip wires and cableways encourage more learning A ride on a zip wire requires you to maintain both a good grip and good balance. This makes the zip wire a really good motor play area, and an ideal play equipment for parks, school playgrounds, housing associations and other public outdoor spaces.
A ride on a zip wire activates the vestibular sense. This sends signals to the brain about acceleration and horizontal positioning.
The proprioceptive receptors in the muscles and tendons tell the brain about the position and movement of the different body parts (also called the kinesthetic sense).
When these senses and systems work well together, the correct muscles are tensed at the correct times. The result is that balance is maintained without falling.
In play, the child becomes better at controlling and coordinating their body and movements. This shifts the focus from bodily functions, leaving them able to focus on other things such as learning.
