Obstacle course - Robinia Scandic somersault bar

A somersault bar is a classic and a favourite on playgrounds, whether in schoolyards or parks.

Here, children can practise doing forward and backward somersaults, swinging round the bar or playing ‘sloth’ to see who can hang on the longest.

The wide range of movements stimulates the vestibular sense – also known as the sense of balance – whilst at the same time strengthening the children’s body control, coordination and muscle strength. The somersault bar is also a focal point on the playground, where children can play together, show each other new tricks and find the courage to try something new.

The somersault bar consists of:

  • A crossbar
  • Two robinia posts

The somersault bar measures 130 cm in length, 15 cm in width and 135 cm in height.
