Skolen på Strandboulevarden - focus on health and movement

Movement in learning and activity breaks during the school day are prioritized at the school Skolen på Strandboulevarden in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen. In collaboration with Marianne Levinsen Landscapearchitects, we designed and mounted the play equipment for the school's outdoor play area.

The request by the Municipality of Copenhagen was a varied outdoor play area including a large, interconnected play equipment. Alltogether, the play equipment should provide varied play functions, that stimulate physical development for the children and encourage social interaction.

The landscape architects' concept for the school's outdoor areas served as our starting point. On this basis we created a two-tower climbing equipment in a light design and picked out all play equipment for the play areas.

In the towers the children can climb high up in a safe environment, learn about boundaries and develop both physically and mentally.
