Mimersparken - a unique climbing structure

We created the large climbing structure for Mimersparken, a public park in Copenhagen – Mimersparken at Nørrebro. The landscape of the park is designed by Thing Brandt Landscape Architects for the Municipality of Copenhagen.

Our task was to construct a large unique climbing equipment, which could play along with the large scale park area.

The climbing structure is created with references to the history of the area, a former railway area. It creates a visible landmark for the park and aspires to curiousity and encourage people to interact.

The design of the climbing structure gives the impression of the hidden railway roadbeds and junctions raising up to form a playful climbing structure. A roundhouse is formed as a trampoline trail, from where you can take different routes on the climbing equipment.

On the climbing structure children can climb and pull themselves up, climb sideways, run or take a break and rest on the rubber mats.
