Swing - baby A-frame robinia and steel h 2.4m
"Give children the right to play and learn, to dream and shape, to live and be. Only when children feel safe do they feel happy".
Carl Scharnberg
All children love swings. That floating feeling makes the child feel free and it’s fun to fly up and down again. It makes for a great experience. Plus, swinging improves the child’s learning ability!
Swinging improves learning ability!
How is that possible? When the child swings, a fluid is set in motion inside the ear, which the main sense of balance feels.
The brain connects information from our sense of balance with information from our muscles, joints, etc. and sends a message to our proprioception about what is going to happen. Muscles, joints and tendons perform the movements.
When these functions are practiced again and again, the basic motor skills and balance ability improve. This gives the child physical security, and the child does not have to focus so much on keeping their balance and can spend their energy on focusing elsewhere.
So in short, good balance means better ability to learn.
And the swing is brilliant for training balance. Read more about the play values of the various play equipment, developing the senses, etc. here.
All children have the ability to develop their proprioception optimally, but they need to start young.
This architect-designed swing has two baby swings, is 2.4 metres high and is a variant of the baby swing of 2.1 metres in height.
The design is simple, and the swing's posts are solid robinia wood with a steel lintel. The swing complies with the EN1176 standard and is certified. Thanks to the design, this swing combines easily with other play equipment in the public playground, such as in day-care centres, shopping malls and similar.
